Tubing Tygon® PTFE & FEP
There are different kinds of hoses and they are manufactured with different materials. Chemical, thermal and mechanical resistance are related to the kind of material they are manufactured with.
The material is selected based on the kind of chemicals that will go through the hoses.
Tetraflon offers a wide selection of hoses manufactured with materials of high chemical and thermal resistance.
Tygon®
Tygon is the brand name for a flexible tubing family that consists of a variety of base materials. Tygon is a trademark of Saint-Gobain Corporation. It is a created word, originated in the late 30’s; used and owned by Saint-Gobain. Tygon products are produced in three different countries and they are sold worldwide.
Tygon tubing is used in several industries such as food, beverages and chemical, industrial, laboratory, drugs and semiconductors processing. There are different compounds for Tygon flexible tubing. Chemical resistance and physical properties vary according to the compounds, but this kind of tubing is considered highly resistant to chemical attack, therefore it can handle almost any chemicals; whether it is liquid, fumes or in suspension.

Types of Hoses

Corrugated PTFE Hoses
PTFE, FEP and PFA corrugated hoses are made with rings to prevent for tight routings.

Smooth Bore Hoses
PTFE, FEP and FPA smooth bore hoses speed up the flow and allow chemical resistance of the manufacturing material.
Convoluted PTFE Tubing
Convoluted PTFE, FEP, and PFA hoses are spiral shaped to reduce collapsing for tight routings.
The main advantage of this hose is that it allows a continuous flow through it, avoiding blockage and making ir easy to clean.

Braided Hoses
These king of hoses can be braided to improve their mechanical resistance and handling damages.
There are different types of Braided Hoses and they are recommended according to the use:
- Polypropylene
- Nickel Plated Steel
- Stainless Steel
- Elastomers
- Kynar®
- P.E.E.K®
- Kevlar®
- Elastómeros
