Types of Vitriflon® Fabrics
Vitriflon® Basic
Vitriflon® Basic is a multi-purpose, non-porous, Teflon®-impregnated product. Its most common applications are as packaging, sealing machines and for the food industry. The Basic series is a good alternative in terms of performance and price.

Vitriflon® Characteristics
Mechanics
The fiberglass fabrics used as backing for Teflon® give them high dimensional stability. The high tear and breaking strength of the fabrics are acquired thanks to the fiberglass backing. Elongation possibilities are very low. Teflon® gives it its extraordinary non-stick properties and has the lowest coefficient of friction with respect to any solid substance.
Thermal
They do not become brittle, fragile or soften after exposure to high temperatures up to 260°C (500°F), Teflon® begins to decompose slowly and some fluorine-based release occurs. The fabrics can also be used at low temperatures down to -184°C (-300°F) for applications where flexibility is not required or 180°C (-112°F) for applications where flexibility is required.
Electrical
The fabrics have excellent electrical priorities, retaining their unmatched dielectric characteristics at both high and low temperatures. Dielectric strength ranges from 250V to 1500V per thousandth of an inch (25.4 microns) of thickness depending on the type of fabric, according to ASTM Short Time Meted method. Its power factor is less than 7 throughout the range up to 100KC.

These fabrics have an excellent resistance to electric arc; its tenacity is such that if the arc is maintained there is no carbonization at the place of arc attack. The surface resistivity is ohms/cm at 100% relative humidity and its resistivity is higher than ohms/cm even after being immersed in water. Tetraflon® manufactures and designs belts for each application, without fon or with different types of splices and with different types of lateral guides such as snaps, eyelets, among others.
