PTFE

Tetraflon® molds, extrudes and machines parts in virgin PTFE or with various mineral fillers. PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) is a thermosetting polymer considered one of the most versatile among thermoplastic materials. Among its most important characteristics are its high resistance to high temperatures, anti-adherence, low friction coefficient, resistance to chemical agents and solvents, as well as its dielectric properties and non-toxic properties.

PTFE

PTFE is one of the most stable thermoplastic materials since at 260°C it retains most of its properties without any decomposition. The thermal conductivity coefficient of PTFE does not vary with temperature changes, that is why it is considered as a good insulator, the mixture with glass fiber or carbon increases the thermal conductivity. PTFE is resistant to most chemical agents and solvents, it is attacked by alkaline metals, chlorine trifluoride and fluorine.

Features

It is resistant to atmospheric conditions and light, since PTFE parts can be exposed for more than 20 years to extreme weather conditions without alterations in their properties. PTFE, due to its extraordinary non-stick properties, resistance to chemicals, extreme temperatures and for having the lowest coefficient of friction with respect to any solid substance, offers numerous applications in all types of industry, especially in the paper, chemical, oil, electrical, nuclear, metallurgical, pharmaceutical and food industries, among others.
